No cameras. Just ears.
Our client came in with an AI-powered audio device that listens to its environment and classifies sounds in real time. Washing machine? "Washing Machine." Factory equipment making a noise it shouldn't? That's not just noise — that's a warning. And the hardware to go with it? A beautifully designed microphone that looked the part.
The goal was simple: make something beautiful enough to sell a vision to investors. We had real creative freedom. That's where things got fun.
Design Challenges
Unlimited freedom is great right up until you're staring at a blank canvas wondering why you ever wanted it.
We explored a few directions before something clicked — this product could speak to younger audiences too. That shifted everything toward mesh gradients, rich customization, and a personality that doesn't take itself too seriously.
The same app also needed to work monitoring laundry at home and industrial equipment in a factory. Interchangeable themes solved that — consumer and enterprise, without feeling duct-taped together.
